Welcome to Dindi TV. Local Television Australia is a leading provider of community TV services – with a commercial edge.
Local Media Pty Ltd operates Local Television Australia – through Dindi TV and Channel 50.
Dindi TV includes a range of programs produced in association with The Local Paper newspaper, in the outer northern and eastern suburbs of Melbourne, and country areas including Murrindindi, the Yarra Valley, the upper Goulburn Valley, Plenty Valley and the Diamond Valley.
In the 1970s, Local Television Australia CEO Ash Long studied video communications at La Trobe University, and co-founded the University of Melbourne’s closed circuit television station.
Local Television Australia has long links with TV. Fifty years ago, in 1969, the Melbourne Observer aired its first TV commercial (with thanks to Chris Keating).
In the 1990s, CEO Ash Long was Producer of a nightly 30-minute program called Mansfield’s Melbourne, first on Optus Local Vision’s Channel 50, and then on community television station, Channel 31.
Sister programs included The Sydney Report (Sydney’s Channel 31), The Brisbane Report (Briz 31) and The Adelaide Report (Channel 6). Other shows included Mansfield’s Memories and Night Owl Theatre.
Dindi TV and Channel 50 have a vault of programs, that viewers can instantly access, free, on demand.
In 2019, and now in its 50th year from its newspaper origins in 1969, Local Media’s Local Television Australia has a wide scope of programs, to attract a wide audience across Victoria and Australia … and across the world.
Local Television Australia offers tailor-made advertising for businesses.
We welcome your local contributions.
